Presidentâs Message 6/27/14
I came away from this event feeling very uplifted and encouraged. The message I took from this event is that the members of Congregation B’nai Israel want to keep this Synagogue alive and well. So many of you contributed your time, energy and money. Our financial situation is always precarious, but when our biggest fundraiser of the year is a success, our budget is a bit less
precarious.
Thank you very much to all those that participated. Thank you to those who donated items to be auctioned, we had many great items on sale. Thank you to those of you who bought the items that were auctioned. Thank you to those who cooked and served the food, it was great. Thank you to those of you that set up, served, cleaned, opened and closed the building. Thank you to those who did the publicity, advertising, decorating and ticket sales. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
It seems to me that all of our members participated in one way or another. This is what it takes to keep a Synagogue alive and well. This is invigorating for me, because from my view as President, I see a community that loves its Synagogue. When we all work together we can accomplish great things.
What did I do for the auction? I showed up, ate and schmoozed. That is my job. You, the members of the B’nai Israel family did all the work. Let’s do it again next year!
This week’s Torah portion teaches us about the importance of Faith. I have faith in the B’nai Israel Community and I have not been disappointed.
